The Goodpoint Story
I established Goodpoint Counseling as a practice where people don’t have to leave parts of themselves behind in order to receive care. It is an approach rooted in the Ignatian tradition of cura personalis, or care for the whole person.
As a mental health professional, I have built my career working alongside predominantly people of color and people of faith who are seeking a healing space that is both integrative and engaging. With a Ph.D. in American religious perspectives, psychology, and culture, I am challenged and inspired to care for each person holistically, honoring the fullness of who you are. When you work with me, you are invited to show up as your truest and most honest version of your self-in-progress.
My therapeutic approach considers your personal life history—how your experiences are both informing and misinforming the ways you are reacting and responding to what is happening inside and outside of you. Together, we will explore the whys to help determine how you can move forward toward greater health and wholeness.
When you leave a session with me, you can look forward to practical solutions, increased insight, and an empowered sense of agency to address the challenges you are facing. Make the decision today to partner with me for an even better tomorrow!
Clinical Approach
As a psychotherapist, my approach is grounded in a culturally competent and inclusive practice that honors the diverse identities, experiences, and narratives each client brings. Rooted in psychodynamic principles, I work to uncover how past experiences shape present challenges, fostering greater self-awareness and transformative healing.
I recognize the profound role that spirituality can play in the therapeutic process, integrating it where it is meaningful and helpful for the client. Whether drawing from spiritual frameworks or exploring broader existential concerns, I create a space where clients can safely engage both their psychological and spiritual journeys.
My commitment to cultural competence ensures that the unique intersections of identity—including race, culture, gender, and sexuality—are not just acknowledged but centered with care and sensitivity. Together, we will co-create a path toward healing that reflects who you are and who you hope to become.
